Following the country’s unification, the mission of repairing and developing An Giang province after a lengthy period of conflict in all fields, including education, received high attention. The Ministry of Education founded An Giang Pedagogical College in 1976 to help prepare teachers to serve in the local educational system. However, the members of the History Department worked hard to overcome obstacles and teach well.
