LITERATURE AND LINGUISTICS DEPARTMENT
1. History of formation
From 1976 to 1999, the Department of Literature belonged to the Faculty of Society and Humanities at An Giang College of Education. Then, it merged with the Literature Department of Pedagogical High School to establish the Literature Department of An Giang Pedagogical College.
In 2000, An Giang University was established, and the Department of Literature was also established, including lecturers teaching specialized courses in literature and teaching specific subjects of literature for teacher training classes. Primary and preschool staff. The department operates under the Faculty of Education.
In 2010, the department established the Department of Primary Education and the Department of Early Childhood. Some teachers from the department separated and moved to work in the new department. Currently, the Department of Literature is a unit that brings together lecturers specializing in literature.
2. Functions and tasks
The Department of Literature trains teachers to teach literature in high schools and middle schools. Previously, there was a period when the Literature Department concurrently trained primary school teachers and preschool teachers. In addition, the Department of Literature also teaches practical Vietnamese for a number of other training systems.
In order to improve the quality of teaching and provide learning materials for students, many department staff registered to participate in compiling teaching textbooks, detailed subject outlines, reference materials, and banks of questions, and put them on the school's website for students to refer to.
The scientific research movement of lecturers and students is also being paid attention to and promoted. Currently, the department has many scientific research projects by lecturers and students. The Department will hold events once a month, twice a year. The Department organizes lecturers and students to report on individual scientific research topics to expand the number of participants.
